Playoffs this season seemed especially competitive, and the final match was tense and exciting. In their first appearance in the playoffs, Seriously Charles made it to the final game against veteran winners Repeat Offenders. Although they claimed to be nervous, Seriously Charles played with poise and confidence, never backing down from the hard hits and serves that Repeat Offenders delivered. The entire team had a powerhouse performance. Ben kept the team under control with tight sets, while Tara dove all over the court digging kills that seemed hopeless. Anthony and Liz were clutch servers and passers, and Hannah and Elliot consistently played outstanding at the net. This awesome team effort led Seriously Charles to an exciting win, proving that you've gotta take this team seriously! Congratulations guys, well damn done!
This week's Player of the Week goes to Tara! In the championship game, Tara played with crazy determination, diving all over the court and digging hits with the consistency of a superhero. Just when the opposition thought they had a kill, Tara would launch herself towards the ball and save it from the touching the ground! If this happened once, it would have been remarkable; twice, it would have been amazing. Tara though, made digs like this throughout the entire match, and that's how she achieved excellence- and Player of the Week status! Congratulations Tara, you were a huge part of your team's win!
Ben had a great night, and with a steady serving hand brought home victory for Seriously Charles! He's always smooth with the sets, but tonight it was his serving that got him recognized. In a hard fought third game, Ben delivered 10 serves in a row that devastated the competition and opened the door for the win. Look out playoffs, Ben and Seriously Charles are on a roll!
Anthony pulled out all the stops this week, elevating his play and giving Seriously Charles their second win of the season. His serving was powerful and consistent, and his passing was beautiful and controlled! Anthony got the job done all over the court and gave his team the extra advantage they needed to overcome tough competition. Great job, Anthony, keep it up!
