The air was filled with anticipation as the teams started their practice and it held that way throughout the night. In true playoff form Dave Olsson secured the advancement of Dialed In to the finals withe a 184 courtesy of the 4 strikes he got to close the game!
In the championship game, the Poppycocks met Dialed in on the wood and the balls were a rollin'. This time it was the the ladies of Poppycocks that had the action. It was a game fought roll to roll and in the end the Poppycocks earned their first set of coveted Underdog Champs shirts--many more to come!!
It is ladies night! Oh what a night!!
The women of Poppycocks came to play. Clearly ready to destroy the competition and show the men on their team what they are made of. Megan, Erin and Katie all brought their A game to the championship evening, and it showed throughout the games and at the prize table! In the first game Katie tied for the high score of her team with a 155, and Erin followed not far behind with a respectable 143.
In the final game of the season, these ladies came to play! Megan wiped the boars with a 180!!! While Erin held her own with a 167, bringing their total pin fall to a 900 for the championship game!! While Dialed in looked like they were giving Poppycocks a run for their money, these women were not to be stopped!
Congratulations Poppycocks!!!
**Caution**Men at Work**
Last week the women of Poppycocks were talking about holding tryouts for the male positions on the team or even having women dress up like men to take those male gender spots.
This week, the women were more than pleased with the male performances and called off the recruiting event.
In a much anticipated match up between Poppycocks and Ball Busters the men secured a W for the Poppycocks in their first match with their steady rolls and strong bowls.
Way to go men. Get ready for the championship!!! The big leagues are on the way!
First off I would like to say that Erin is clearly the leader in the strike category. Not only can she bowl that straight ball more consistently than I have ever seen, but it is a princess ball to boot! We will talk more about her later....stay tuned...
Tonight the POTW is a little different, and I would like to start this awards ceremony with the 'Most Improved Team': Worse that we look not only took their bowling scores up a notch but their spirit was through the roof, and they had a parental fan club! There was so much cheering it was hard to hear the pins falling--which they were!
Pins down like ROAD KILL is the team that is 'Most Likely To Coach a Bowling Team for Kids'. Not only are they a team of bona fide educators but they have great spirit for all around them, and they had big hats to spare.
'Most Likely to Own Their Own Ball/Shoes' at the nd of the season goes to the Ball busters. They were rolling those lanes like professionals and the leader of the pack last night was clearly Alexandra. Nice work guys!
'Most Likely to Host the End of Season Bowling Party' is Dialed In. What can I say, people just want to be around them, they have extra players every week, hanging out just in the hopes that they might be able to hit the wood with these guys!
The team 'Most Likely to Make a Championship Sneak': Osama Pin Laden. they may seem chill and relaxed, some may even say stoic, but do not be fooled, these guys came to play and the prize tickets seem to migrate that way...this is really one team to watch!
Now, back to our Player of the Week. Erin, also known affectionately as Viper, was schooling people on her turkey dance. She is showing promise of a championship W! Did I mention her straight ball?! She has teams from other lanes watching her when she hits the wood, and as all those pins fall...a "VIPER" rings out among the crowd!!!
Congratulations to all the recipients on this Wednesday April 15th 2009! Well done!
