First Place

Summer Softcore Kickball at U-Dist Playfield Mon/Wed

On an extremely hot evening the Rubbers took control of the playoffs with clutch kicking, aggressive baserunning, and solid defense. The semi finals highlighted a battle of the two cinderella stories with the #8 seed LH2 falling to a jacked up Leny's squad. The other semi final matched saw a veteran Rubbers squad pull and upset on the undefeated offensive juggernaut Catch That Crap!. CTC made a late game rally, but there were just too many runs to make up. In the Championship the Rubbers took advantage of having an hour off to cool down and jumped all over Leny's from the start, taking the title 12-2 , led by playoff MVP Karen Nichols.

Wednesday, July 29

POTW: Karen Nichols

The Rubbers

The Rubbers had many players with a good playoff resume, but Karen put on a training video. With consistency over both playoff games, and precise on both offense and defense, she deservedly earns Player of the Week honors.
With deft bunts and well placed kicks, she constantly got on base to create scoring opportunities.
On defense, she actually got the other team to strategize kicking it away from her.
Nice job Karen!

Monday, July 13

POTW: Lauren Lane

The Rubbers

Lauren showed off the true underdog spirit when she acted with integrity during her game. On a throw to first she was called safe, but she called herself out and admitted that she was grazed by the ball. Thank you so much lauren for your spirit of sportsmanship.

Monday, July 6

POTW: Bryan Erlebach

The Rubbers

Bryan had 2 runs and an RBI...However, if you blinked, you would have missed it. His speed and agility to escape the rubber ball flying towards him was insane!

Wednesday, June 17

POTW: Beth Irwin

The Rubbers

Beth earned player of the week by displaying great team spirit and energy out there to help her team to victory today. Beth was an excellent backstop and had some excellent bunts out there today. Great job!
