Sheldon Kitts caught 3 long TD passes from Ryan Beakins leading the Freeballers to 55-50 upset win over the #2 seed Pick 6. Of Kitts' 3 long catches, 2 were on the first two Freeballer offensive series. The quick strikes stunned Pick 6, a normally stellar defensive unit and led to 34-12 halftime lead. Pick 6 made a frenzied rally in the 2nd half and pulled within 5, but the Freeballers were able to take the "victory formation" at the end. Sheldon not only caught the 3 TD's, but played stellar defense when needed late. It was an all around great performace.
This weeks player of the week goes to Ben Zafft of "Freeballers". In a very tight game that went back and forth, Freeballers lost the lead with 9 seconds on the clock and needed a big play. The QB dropped back on first down and Hit Ben, who made a great catch and move on the play to get them within striking distance. On the next play it was Ben who ran a tough route and came down with another tough catch in the endzone and game winner with no time on the clock! Great job Ben, and great catches at the end!
