Both the High Point Hustlers and the Test Eagles came into the championship feeling confident after knocking off high seeds the week before. These two teams battled early in a defensive showdown, trading one run leads until the game was tied at 4 in the fifth inning. What a nail biter it was until Jon Edmonds cleared the bases with a 3 run bomb to left field. The rest of the game belonged to the Test Eagles, as they limited High Point Hustlers to one run to finish off an impressive playoff run. Congratulations, Test Eagles!
Jon Edmonds is the player of the week for West Seattle, but you might as well call him the Championship MVP! The Test Eagles needed runs when they found themselves tied up in the fifth inning of the big game, and Jon delivered. He crushed the ball over the head of the left fielder to plate three runs including himself. He was a vital part of the all-star lineup that took home the title in West Seattle. Great job, Jon!
Over the course of two games, Dustin showed off why he is a kickball legend. From cranking grand slams to pitching one hell of a ball game, Dustin did everything he could to lead his squad to the doubleheader sweep. If there ever were a natural choice for Kickball MVP, it would be Dustin. Congrats to our Player of the Week!
The overwhelming best play of the night goes to Christian. After scuffling a bit in his first career kickball at-bat, Christian was undeterred his next time up. Timing his kick just right, he cranked one of the longest kicks in Underdog history. The ball cleared the outfielders ' head giving Chrisitan an easy trot around the bases as he logged a two-run homer. Great job Christian!
