After neatly sweeping up their semi final game against Hobo Picnic, Tra La La 3 prepared to face off against the One Arm Bandits - a team who has stomped out the competition almost as well as Tra La La 3. The first game was evenly matched, as both teams fought tooth and nail to gain some ground.
On the Tra La La side, Jen did a great job setting up the excellent passing so that her front row could do what they do best: kill the ball. Jason, Ryan and Sean all played smart, killer offense. With Tina and Alisa digging up everything that came at them, the team managed to pass, set, hit almost every play.
One Arm Bandits played some excellent defense though, with Ester and Steve leading with pack with their scrappy plays and quick digs. Becky's quick hands up at the net kept the ball in play many a time, as did Sean's long reach and good tips.
The first game came to a tense and exciting end at 29-27, with Tra La La 3 barely squeaking out the win.
Tra La La 3 took the momentum from the first game win to take the lead in the second early on, and never gave it back. Strong serving by player of the game, Jason, gave them a bigger lead and despite their best effort, One Arm Bandits never managed to catch up. The game ended at 25-17 with Tra La La 3 as victorious as ever.
Congratulations to Tra La La 3 for a perfect season!
Jason Steele was on the top of his game Tuesday night, helping Tra La La 3 to a dominating win. Jason was dynamite while serving and added a few nasty kills for good measure.
