Notes

First Place

Fall Co-ed Flag Football in Ballard Tuesdays

The playoffs were some great games this Tuesday. Tractor Face looked to advance to the championship game by taking a commanding lead against I Touchdown (TD) There early in the game. They were up by two scores and seemed poised to advance. However, I TD There came up with some huge plays to take the lead, pulled way and, eventually the win.
The other playoff game of the night saw 2 of 5 matched against Hands on Experience. On paper, it looked like Hands On had the advantage but we play the games because you never know (and they pay to play)! The game started out close and each team matched the others' scores. 2 of 5 came up with some key stops with some huge interceptions from Stewart Bealle, one a pick six that turned the game upside down! Hands On Experience, to their credit, never gave up but it was not to be on this night for a great team.
The championship game was set and it was a defensive struggle early. We were surprised that both teams could not get anything going on their first series and punted. The game finally got going, with a scoring drive put together by I TD There. 2 of 5 would answer the bell though with a nice little drive of their own. Defense was the key and both teams got some defensive stops that made the game close. Lance Copeland made some great plays on both sides of the ball and had a key reception that sealed the game up for the eventual champions. Although the score may not reflect it, the game was closely played. Our congratulations to the champions who played well and a Bravo Zulu to 2 of 5 for giving it their all and challenging the champs! It was an honor and a privilege to watch and referee.

POTW: Lance Copelin

I Touchdown There

Lance played brilliantly out there on Tuesday. He led his team to the championship match and helped them secure the championship. On defense he had several interceptions that helped the offense with great field position. On offense, he grabbed more touchdowns than the Seahwaks this week and I think I saw some scouts out there inquiring about his talent! He scored 3 touchdowns in the championship game and his contributions on the field were the main reason his team took the title! Great Job Lance!
To all the previous PTOW, thank you for giving us something to write about all season. It was fun to watch you ladies and gentlemen give it your all. To those of you who did not earn a shout out on this page, keep working at it and you'll get here. Thanks for a great season everyone.

POTW: Clayton Thomas

I Touchdown There

Clayton was all over the field, looking like Pacman Jones (just kidding- he looked better)! Clayton was involved on several defensive pass plays were he broke them up. He led his team with two interceptions and 1 pass interference (LOL)! Seriously, he was a monster on the defensive side of the ball. He was not too shabby on the offensive side either where he snagged two touchdowns as well. Great job Clayton!

There was another player who had a spectacular week too but he is so low key, I could not want to give him the PTOW! JB Aguilera of Dirty Dancers had a remarkable game this week. He roamed the field on both sides like an All American/All Madden DB and wide receiver. Since he is really humble, I won't blow up this page with huge stats; Great Job JB! Clayton was the man this week. Next week I'd like to see some ladies step their game up! Great job men!
