Derek had an all around game. On offense he boomed kickballs all day (each time he was at the dish)! He had a double and a triple. He led his team on defense with excellent pitching and great hustle plays. He was the quiet leader out there and one great athlete! Thanks Derek and congratulations.
The sound of weedeaters (or was that a motorcycle?) echoed across the fields all evening and powered the WeedEaters to victory via Meaghan Keller. Not only was she "instrumental" in her team's win, but she also had great plays on defense and a golden shoe to boot. Great game Meaghan!
For me, the kickball experience continually etches itself on my memory and rewrites its own past with glorious new plays each outing. One of these beloved instances graced our game on Thursday night as Roberta cart-wheeled over home plate after an invitation to do so by yours truly. Epic play- something I'll be able to tell my grandchildren about.
This week's player of the week goes to Derek Gebhard of the Weed Eaters. Derek was all star in his game against the "rough and tough" Picture Me Rollin' team. He did it all kicking, defense, and most importantly, Derek was a great sport. Amongst his hits, there was one kick that would have been a homerun Pho Sho if the umpire hadn't taken it away from him ;) But even though the ump called it back, he was a cool cat about it. Great attitude, Derek! Thanks for your hard work!
