Spring Softcore Kickball at Ballard Playfield Sundays

This Championship game was a battle between the very experienced South Prop Drop and a first time contender in We Got the Runs. And it was exactly that, a battle. Both teams would go back and forth. If one team scored, so did the other. If one team went three and out so did the opposition. But the game changer came in the bottom of the sixth, with 1 out and runners on 1st and 2nd. South Prop Drop hit a line drive down the first base line to score a two run double that put them on top and that is where they would stay. An absolutely phenomenal game to finish the season!

South Prop Drop

Dan was an absolute baller out there, it's like he has done this sport before.... Oh that's right he has! This performance was exceptionally special however because it won his team a championship. All around he played some stellar defense and made several key kicks. But his best play came in the top of the 6th with a running catch that took him into the dugout fence. He was running at full speed, but no one thought he was gunna make it. He stunned all of us! It was a phenomenal play that capped off a great championship win.

Kelly Andersen is the player of the week! Kelly was a force in the field with multiple great catches and cat like reflexes. Her defensive game was not the only thing on point, but her base running skills proved just as good if not better. Kelly was able to escape a pickle and make it safely to third base. She showed quickness, speed, and precision movements while escaping from defenders. This is why Kelly is the Player of the Week!
