Wednesday night at First Baptist Church, a battle for the title of champion was fought between Friends and Maybe Jenn and Indy #V12. While Indy #V12 came in strong and won the first set 25-22, Friends and Maybe Jenn came back with determination in the second set, claiming a victory. The final set was well played by both teams, but ultimately Friends and Maybe Jenn took first place. It should be mentioned that their victory was achieved with only four players! Amazing! Congratulations to Friends and Maybe Jenn!
Courtney Kronenberger was a true X-factor playing in the back court at her game this week. Proving the old adage that some people just have “it,” Courtney was on another level during her championship game. Valiantly, she dove everywhere across the back court and outperformed the competition, which paved the way for her team to set up for some kills. For gracing all in attendance with her natural athletic ability, Courtney is our Player of the Week. Congratulations!
Keegan Cook of Friends and Maybe Jenn was a true X-factor in his volleyball game this week. Proving the old adage that some people just have “it,” Keegan was on another level during his game this past Wednesday. One extraordinary moment was when he pulled off the perfect pancake! With only three other teammates showing up for the night, he still managed to outrun, outjump, and outperform the competition, despite being down in players. His performance paved the way for his team to earn two victories. They are moving on to the championship game next week. For gracing all in attendance with his natural athletic ability, Keegan is our Player of the Week. Congratulations!
I will just put it simply, Chris' spikes are terrifying, but they are so good. And it seemed he delivered them with such ease. So at the start of the game you didn't even see it comin'. Now the team they were playing against fought hard to pop back up his incredibly forceful serves and spikes, and were able to send them back. But often times Chris saw those open spots and went right for them. After the game I had to go up to him and tell him and one of his teammates that they were amazing and terrifying to watch. Please teach me your awesome and precise ways. So if you are ever able to see Friends and Maybe Jenn play, you will definitely be left in awe.
