In a very exciting game with two awesome teams, it was Homewreckers that edged out Athletes in Training in the bottom of the 7th. Defense played a key role in this game as highlight plays were being made by both teams. Athletes in Training's shortstop wowed the large crowd on hand with a backhand scoop with a long throw to get an out at 1st. Homewreckers followed suit with deep ball catches in blaring sun to stop rallies. Both teams wanted the chipper and there were no weaknesses on the field. The largest lead in the game was 3 runs by the Athletes in Training, but that lead was shaved down in the final 3 innings as Homewreckers relied on the long ball and were able to score 4 runs and edge the previous champs by a run. The final score was 10 to 9 and the Homewreckers left the park with the Champ shirts on their backs. Great seasons to both teams, and excellent showdown in the chipper!
This weeks player of the week goes to all the players on the Homewrecker squad. They banded together all season to the number one seed for the playoffs and being the team to beat. With the targets on the head in the playoffs they all tightened the screws and played solid softball. They were strong in every aspect with solid "D", and finding lots of grass with the solid bats the whole team had. Great season Homewreckers, and hats off the all the performances of your squad!
This weeks player of the week goes to Steven King and his performance at the plate. Steven knocked in a lot of big RBI's putting his team up early and helping them stay on top. He also chipped in on defense with great catches, and helped stop rallies by their opponent, and put his team in the winners column. Great job Steven!
