In a lively battle Thursday night between the Milliman Mathletes and That Awesome Team there was no holding back. No matter how close or far the score was, the Mathletes never backed off and ultimately claimed their title of Underdog Champions from a 2-1 victory over That Awesome Team. Everything was clicking for the Mathletes - their passing and setting were completely in sync and able to sweetly set them up for some incredible hitting! Hitting against the Mathletes' blocking proved to be a like hitting against the Great Wall of China - nothing was getting around them! When That Awesome Team was able to get hits around them, Maruke was there to get some excellent digs just like she has all season! Staying intense while having fun to the end, Thursday was a great way to end a consistently strong season for Milliman. Congratulations Team!!
All season the Milliman Mathletes have stood out for having fun and playing hard. Maruke has stood out for her incredible defensive skills and talent for staying positive, despite the team winning or losing! Every time someone hit a ball, regardless of how far away it was, Maruke was there to dig it up for her teammates!! Great job all season Mathletes!
The Mathletes fought hard to win their match this week and got a strong spark by Kyle in all the games. The force he brought with his hitting could challenge a Southern Storm. He had some great diving saves and stayed consistent throughout the match. Everyone on the team did a great job and definitely worked together great! They were able to have fun and enjoy the night!
First game of the evening, and Milliman Mathletes bring out the HEAT with three wins! It was a great game but without Erica, Milliman Mathletes wouldn't of had that energy they needed. Erica brought the team up with great encouragement, and with some awesome digs and serves. A Mathlete that deserves an A+ in our book, heres to you Erica, player of the week!
The Milliman Mathletes laughed in the face of their double header night by fighting through, and winning, both their matches against tough opponents. Staying focused while having fun seemed easy for the Mathletes on Thursday. Leading the team was Erica with her beastly hitting and ferocious defense. Her tactic to channel her inner-beast-mode scared the other teams and helped the Mathletes fight for their victory!
