It's the playoffs & the old saying that 'everyone has a zero zero record now' was never more true than Tuesday night! In the Championship game it would be the #6 seeded Trupanion taking on the #5 seeded How Do You Like Your Eggs In The Morning. Trupanion barely escaped Kick In A Box in the first game with an 8-7 win & then cruised past Low Expectations 9-18. How Do You Like Your Eggs In The Morning had some great momentum & energy going into the Champs game after taking down Ballbusters 0-9 and knocking off top-seeded Pound Town 5-11. In the Championship game things started out tight but then Trupanion started running away with the game. The player that set the tone for Trupanion was their first baseman Andy Bren who was solid at first but more importantly was VERY aggressive in running the bases which put his team in great position inning after inning! In the end Trupanion took home the Championship with a decisive 16-6 victory!
In the Championship game Andy Bren had first base on lockdown! With solid play & spectacular catches to silence any chance of a comeback he helped set the tone for his team all game long. His ironclad play at first was only bested by his smart & aggressive baserunning. It seemed like every inning he was giving his team the best chance to score runs & limit their opponent. Congrats to Trupanion on their Championship run and to Trupanion's Andy Bren the Player of the Week!
In the final match of this brisk "spring" evening it was Trupanion taking on How Do You Like Your Eggs In The Morning. This match-up was a passionately contested one with one team jumping out with a couple runs and the other team answering back. In this game however it would be one inning which would bust the doors open. It's fitting that the player to drive in the most runs with one sweep of his leg is also the player with the most nicknames of the evening. His teammates call him J-Mar and The Gardner among many other things, but no matter what you call him in the end Jason Martin is Player of the Week-Mar for his game changing Grand Slam to determin the winner in a 14-10 final! Congrats to Trupanion and Jason Martin!
