Summer Softcore Kickball at Denny Park T/Th

This game set up to be an epic battle between two powerhouse teams. The Saints and Clearpoint both came in riding highs as they both scored over 20 runs in their semifinal games. The game started with both teams scoring runs in the first inning with the Saints holding a slim lead. The game would swing back and forth as Clearpoint was lead by the kicking of Alex and the pitching of Megan. As the game was tied heading into the bottom of the fifth, the Saints were able to take a three run lead. Clearpoint was able to scratch back a couple of more runs in the top of the inning to cut the deficit to one. However, the Saints defense, which was lead by Justin and Ashley, were able to shutdown Clearpoint and seal the championship win 10 to 9.

Justin defense seals championship for Saints

Justin was all over the outfield in both the semifinal and championship games. He made a couple of diving catches in the semifinal that helped end the rally of Maddababy. His defense was just as good in the championship game as he helped end mutiple comebacks and caught the final out to seal the championship win for the Saints.

POTW: Jenn Fahey

The week's POTW goes to the captain of the "Saints" team: Jenn Fahey. Despite this being their first time playing with Underdog, Jenn has led her team to an undefeated regular season. In their win on Tuesday Jenn was dominant from her 2nd base position making some impressive outs at crucial moments. For her leadership of the number one team in the league and her consistently solid play all year Jenn is our Player of the Week. Congrats Jenn!

Bryan French's terrific plays on defense key victory for Saints

Time and again, Bryan French was asked to step up when the game was on the line. And time and again, he would answer the challenge with incredible throws all over the field. Whether it was routine groundouts, line drive catches, or unbelievable pegouts just before the plate, Bryan was all over it. His great play set the stage for his team to come back from a 6-0 deficit and steal the win 20-10. Great game Bryan!
