Whiskey Kick got off to a quick start in the championship game with 4 runs in the 1st including a nice 2 run double down the LF line for an early 4-1 lead. The game would stay tight but Whiskey Kick got some great D from the pitcher/catcher duo of Blake and Will to maintain a slim lead. Not once but twice, Blake made incredible diving catches from the mound and Will had numerous hot throws to first for some close outs. Justin helped out at 1st with amazing stretches 'n catches and chipped in offensively with 3 RKI and 2 runs scored. The ladies in the outfield added to D with Aubrey making a big catch late in the game and Maddie running all over RF for a key catch with runners in scoring position. It was a total team effort and hard earned championship victory.
Justin was clicking on both sides of the ball in his two games of Monday night playoff kickball. In game 1 he started it with a 3 run HR in the 2nd then added 2 more RKI and 2 runs scored in what was a dominating offensive performance. In game 2, the championship, he decided to bring on the D at 1st base. He caught everything that came his way including a twisting line-drive toward the foul line that he squeezed with his fingertips for the final out with runners at 2nd and 3rd--amazing! His kicks were as big as ever with a 2 run single in the 5th to extend the lead and help bring home the eventual championship victory.
In a tight, highly defensive game, Will was the difference maker. It was the top of the seventh, tied at four with two on and one out, high fly ball to deep right center field and Will was on his horse as soon as that ball was touched. With great speed and aggressive base-running, Will got his team the lead and a 1,2,3 bottom half secured the victory. Congratulations on the win and way to play!
