Marvi had a sensational game. A complete stopper at shortstop, she drew the applause from onlookers a few times with stop defensive plays. On the kicking side, she placed bunts and got on base repeatedly as well as serving as a pinch runner for her injured teammate. Great game Marvi!
Third base is known as "The Hot Corner" because when the ball is hit that way it comes in fast. You need a sure-handed person to play that position and the Strong Young Pups had one in Megan Simmons. She was like a wall with hands at third. Everything that came her way was caught. She was so sure-handed that she tried using her legs to make a catch instead of her hands, and she still made the catch. She was amazing out there and it was great to see her make such a spectacular catch.
