On the hottest day of the year so far in Seattle the only thing hotter than the weather was the bat of Upper Deckers' Brendan Morse! As Upper Deckers took the field against Northwest Electric and Solar you had to know this was going to be a very close game. Both teams were pretty evenly matched with great defense on both sides and several powerful bats in the lineup. Northwest Electric and Solar jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, but after that Upper Deckers turned the game into the Brendan Morse Show. Brendan went 4-for-4 on the day including a Grand Slam, 2 homeruns and a double. Brendan's hitting accounted for almost all of the 10 runs as Upper Deckers went on to win by a score of 10-8. Congrats to Upper Deckers on their hard fought victory and to Brendan Morse for earning Player of the Week!!!
This weeks player of the week honors go to Crystal T. for both her offensive and defensive contributions. With the tight game Crystal was able to maufacture runs with her 2 doubles, and 1 single as she batted 3 for 4. The final score was 6 to 5, and it was Crystal's defensive plays that helped slow the opponents scoring with great catches, putting the field on lock-down! Great game Crystal!
