This was a championship for the ages. On this night every game was decided by one run and the got progressively better. This championship game being the best of them all. It started off with the Kick Yo Couch Ninjas jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the 1st. But Pitches Be Crazy wouldn't go quietly into the night, striking back with 5 runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st. Then for the next 2 innings defense was display. No runs were scored until the 4th when the Ninjas put up 3 runs making it 8-5 in their favor. In the 5th, Pitches Be Crazy took control. They scored 4 runs putting them up 9-8. The Ninjas had their backs to wall and needed some runs, and in the 6th they got them. They scored 3 runs to retake the lead 11-9. Now they had to play some D, and that's exactly what they did. They allowed 1 run in the 6th to make it 11-10 and completely shut them out in 7th to take the championship 11-10.
David unleashed an onslaught of offensive power. In both games of their doubleheader, he drove in run and after run. Definitely the catalyst of offense for the juggernaut Ninja's. Offensive league MVP candidate...
This weeks player of the week goes to David K. for his solid work behid the plate. David was the star of the team racking up outs with his hustle from the catcher position, getting most of the outs for his squads defense. Nobody bunter was safe, and any rallies were squashed with the speed and accurate throws of David. Great job Dave helping your team start off 1 and 0!
