Through the years there have been many militias formed in the Land of the Sasquatch, our beautiful Pacific Northwest. Crews from B.C., Idaho, Oregon, and Washington have made headlines many times over, often for chasing unattainable goals. However, Sasquatch Militia does not fit into that group. This championship has helped them reached a level of success that no other militia formed here in the Great Northwest could ever dream of.
With two gritty victories over With Ourselves and TDs N Beer, Sasquatch Militia stamped their names in the record books. Led by Willie S. and Matt Yoder, the Militia left their opponents in shambles in a playoff run for the ages. Yoder was especially impressive, throwing eight touchdowns over the course of two games and being the steady and heady field general Sasquatch Militia needed in order to conquer their opposition.
There are many ways to describe Matt Yoder's performance this past Thursday. Super Human, Half Man-Half Amazing, and One Man Wrecking Crew are what immediately come to mind. But those phrases hardly do justice to his dominant statistical output in the championship game. Matt threw four touchdown passes on offense, then played like Revis Island on defense, knocking down five passes, and making the game sealing interception. While no Underdog Sports Leagues Hall of Fame currently exists, Matt Yoder makes a strong case to be a charter member if one were ever brought into existence.
This weeks player of the week goes to Willie S. and his unstoppable presence on the field. Willie lead all teams in all catagories both offense and defense. While on offense he was the scoring force with 4 TD's capped off with 2 PAT's. Willie did not stop there he was also a menace on defense reeling in 3 INT's to help his get a victory. Great job Willie!
