The standard: Two teams, one winner. But on Wednesday night, one champion but 2 winners. Both teams, Switchpoint All Stars and Heavily Faulted played one of the greatest kickball games ever to be played. There was everything from diving catches, to beautifully placed bunts, to out of the park kicks. Heavily Faulted probably had one of the greatest kicking line-ups. The only way to get them out was to come up w/magical catches like the one in left center by Switchpoint's Brian Leslie. Switchpoint's D was definitely on top of it that night and they held on long enough for the 6th inning, where they turned things around and there offense really KICKED in and grabbed a big lead to where Heavily Faulted just couldn't quite make up that much ground. They tried in the 7th but it just wasn't enough. Hats off to both teams!! See you in SOFTCORE!!
Jenny Nguyen is a kickball bunt ARTIST! She combines speed, style, and a perfectly placed light kick to reach base every single time. And eventually her keen kickball sense guides her to the next base and then the next base after that until she reaches the base that is loved and loathed all at the same time: HOME BASE! Excellent work out there, Picasso!
3rd Base was the hot spot Monday night. Good thing Captian Clint (which is a total rip off of Captain America) was there to use his super powers to cool it down. Clint, who had at least 2 outs an inning, was a monster 3rd baseman. On 2 plays, while obeying the encroachment rule, he picked up two grounders and from 3rd, he beat out the runners on foot to get them out. He is definitely an All Star pick for 2012! Nice job out there CAPTAIN CLINT!
