With Urban Fitness being the top team of the season, most were used to the 25-2 or 38-6 games put out by Urban Fitness. When the second day of playoffs came around, Urban Fitness faced some challenges. Urban beat the Slammers by 2 just runs, and if it hadn't been for some heads up defense and some base running errors, the Slammers could have been in the championship.
In the championship, Urban Fitness put it into high gear against the Mavericks. They jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one inning and never looked back. A solid team contribution was put in by every team member. All of the women on the team, Laura/Kim/Corrie/Gloria, put in solid contributions for Urban Fitness, picking up the slack where the men were slacking off.
The game didn't have that many great plays, while there were about 5 home runs, that wasn't the . The major scene was in the stands as people were taking bets going to win. Apparently Vegas had the Mavericks as a 2 run favorite. We heard the Slammers and their families lost some major money.
Corrie led the offensive charge for Urban Fitness by going 2 for 4 , scoring 2 key runs, and knocking in 3 herself.
