The Big Dingers came from behind to take the lead in the middle innings against Upper Deckers in an outstanding championship game at Eagle Staff.
Entering the 7th with a 21-15 lead, the Big Dingers' usually reliable defense faltered a bit and the Upper Deckers took advantage and put the tying run on base with just one out. Just when it looked like things might slip away, the Dingers made a couple of fine plays in the field to end the game with a final of 21-20.
Player of the Game Stephen Dahlberg made two phenomenal plays in the outfield that made all the difference in this close contest, one a diving catch in center field that required a lot of ground (and air) to be covered, the other a sliding cutoff of a base hit down the left-field line that held runners and prevented at least two runs form scoring.
Congratulations to both teams on a great Championship!
