It was a long road to the championship for Ball Related. They started their trek with the first games of the day at 10am. Not sure whether it was rust or they just needed to wipe the sleep out of their eyes, but they faced a tough match-up against Bottom of the 5th in their opener and barely squeaked by 9-8. Had they not pulled that one out, this could have been a very different story for them.
After two more morning/afternoon wins to sweep their division, they went into the playoffs needing to win back to back to back to back games to win it all. They were able to fight through the fatigue though as they pulled out their first game against 5th Grade Sports Legends. As each game passed, Ball Related just kept getting stronger and stronger, playing up to the level of competition as it increase with each round.
Smack My Pitch Up made their run to the championship after pulling out back to back amazing comebacks, including one from 9 runs down. Their luck ran out in the championship game though as Ball Related stepped on their rabbits foot and brought home the championship with a 9-7 win.
