In championship athletics, you can only ask for one thing; a good clean game between the two best, evenly matched teams that lives up to it's hype. Oh, maybe some good officiating, too, but I digress.
The Thursday night championship game between Murph and The Magic Tones and Polish My Balls delivered on all fronts. The two best teams from the season went head to head for all the marbles, and shook the heavens with the thundering of their... balls.
In the end, it was the Murph crew victorious by slim 16 pins (516-500)! Jen from Polish My Balls did everything in her power to keep her crew in the running, putting up a 162 in her first game, and a 181 in the championship, but Murph's consistency was just too much to overcome.
KEXP Static 3 proved they were more than just a passing fancy by sealing up the third place slot with a convincing win over Dirty Little Naughties in the bronze medal match.
The champs spoke solemnly after the game, dedicating their victory to their fallen teammate Trisha "Sandee" Mills, who couldn't be there, either because of being hospitalized in a freak tragic hunting accident, or because she was visiting someone in Florida; we forget which.
At any rate, here's to you, Murph and The Magic Tones- 2006 Winter Big Turkey Bowling Champs!
Trisha "Sandee The Magnificent" Mills is this week's POTW. Style, grace, and several consecutive spares gives her the leg up on the competition. She's kinda like Audrey Hepburn in that movie she made about bowling. You know the one, right? It was like "Bowling at Something..." Ah, it's right on the tip of my tongue! Well anyway, it was awesome... uh, like Trisha.
