In their first season of Underdog football, KTOWN wouldn't see a single defeat in their march to the championship. Their regular season included two separate shut-outs and wins over two of the next 3 highest seeds.
They solidified their top seed in the last two weeks of the regular season, beating both Too Offensive and Roll Zags, two victories that they would have to replicate in the playoffs.
In their first playoff game of the night, they went up against a Roll Zags team that had just pulled off a 26-13 win in the first round. On a cold day, Roll Zags went into the match-up already warm. The game would be a close back and forth affair much like their earlier match-up. In the end though, it was a late Brian Thielsen interception which turned the tide and clinched a berth in the championship game.
In the championship KTOWN would meet up against a Too Offensive team that was playing their third game of the night. Neither team showed signs of fatigue as the vertical passing game was on display from both teams. The difference in this high scoring affair was a pick six early in the first half by Daniel Isaacson who picked off a pass from a driving Too Offensive team that was only 5 yards away from scoring. This produced a twelve point swing and Too Offensive had to play catch up the rest of the way.
Jason Hallerman was a difference maker in KTOWN's back and forth victory over Too Offensive. Jason was able to led the team with 4 TD receptions including a key TD to help secure the win. His all-around contribution warranted player of the week honors. Keep up the stellar play Jason.
