The final day of the season brought lots of great softball by the final 3 teams. The Juicers played a great game against a solid team in They MIGHT be Giants, but were able to outlast their opponent with 2 scoreless innings while on defense on their way to a 12 to 10 victory. They took those scoreless innings right into the Championship playing excellent "D" and held the Master Batters to 0 runs in the first 4 innings. The Juicers had a 12 run lead in the top of the 5th, but the mighty Master Batters heated up the bats and rallied 5 runs in the 5th as well as 6 runs in the 6th. Both teams played great on defense and the 2 best teams were definitely squaring off with the eyes on the prize. Going into the 7th inning it was a 12 to 11 game advantage Juicers, and it came down to defense and the Juicers rose to the occasion. They made key plays and only allowed 1 run giving them a heart-pounding victory and the team rocking the green shirts at the start of the game, left wearing the Champ shirts at the end of the game. Great game to both teams, and congrats Juicers on a fantastic season.
This weeks player of the week goes to Aaron T. for his Grand-slam in the chipper making the difference in the game. Aaron hit the ball solid all day, and knocked in lots of runs which helped in his teams 2 run win and 1 run win. With solid defense and lots of hits this weeks player of the wee goes to Aaron!
What a team! The Juicers are stacked w/talented, easy going, fun all stars. If you saw them play, you'd think they'd have been playing for years together. The way they play is comparable to the 95 Seattle Mariners. Their second baseman sucks up grounders like a vaccum cleaner and regardless if there's a person on 1st base, is ready for that double play turn. Nothing gets passed their outfielders, w/ their right fielder making leaping catches, shattering the batter's hopes and dreams. At bat, they are relentless w/the long ball. Anyone of those players could be in the 3rd or 4th slot.
Keep up the stellar performances, Juicers!
