In the semifinal # 1 seed Gold Diggers fought off the Freeballers, 5-2, to face the # 3 seed, Wannabee Ballers, who vaulted into a playoff spot the last week of the season. The Ballers battled it out with the # 2 seed Alcoballics in their semifinal, winning 4-3 in a nail biter.
The championship gave the onlookers plenty of athleticism and debauchery.
Digger co-captain Bro Martin sparked the Gold offense, but in the end the Ballers capitalized on their offensive opportunities and followed it up with stingy 'D' led by MVP Jen Allen's cheeky fake out of a runner on 2nd to stifle a go ahead Digger run.
Congrats to the new champs!
Jenn Allen displayed veteran status as she pulled the old skool fake-a-roo on a key runner to twart the opponents 2-out rally.
Add in a couple of nice bunts, and Jenn becomes our Player Of the Week!
