When a top seated team enters the playoffs, every team is gunning to take you down. So, when the #1 team in the Softcore division of the Greenlake/Lower Woodland league, the Easy Swingers, rolled over the Springfield Isotopes, they felt confident that not only did they have this title locked down, but that they could also guzzle more tequila than any other team. While, the jury is still out on the tequila (Cazadores anyone?), we do know that team Easy Swingers is a team of champions. However, this did not come easy. In the final game against The Deuce, the Swingers could only muster four runs. Still, the defensively minded Swingers allowed only three, led by Todd Peters' stunning performance at shortstop. After receiving the Championship Certificate to Tacos Guamas, the Swingers were chanting "$50 worth of Tequila, Yay!" Yay indeed, yah indeed.
Everyone knows that defense wins championships, however if a team has no offense not only will everyone get bored, but that team probably won't make it to the championship. That is why Chris Snyder of Easy Swingers stands out so much in the final week of the Greenlake/Lower Woodland league. Not only did Chris hit for the cycle in the semifinals, he also hit the only home run in the finals. While the cycle is nice for Chris' stats, it was his 2-run in the bottom of the second inning that sparked the Easy Swingers to victory over The Deuce. Way to hit it Chris.
