Despite of the absense of a few of their star players, including Paolo Dayao and Sarah Chromy, the Greenlake Fat Asses played some great defense and had some huge innings as they cruised their way to their first league championship. Last year, the Fat Asses were a middle of the pack team that fell short of expectations, but with a lot of practice (including two-a-days) they stepped up their game and had the stamina to go the extra mile and last through the championship round.
Not only is Brian Sweeney our Player of the Week, he has to be considered league MVP. Sweeney hit home runs in the semi-final and final round, to go with flawless defense in left field. In a game where defense matters so much, Sweeney was like a vaccum out there, catching anything that came his way.
