Summer Co-ed Softball on Capitol Hill Mondays/Wednesdays

This game had the feel of two juggernauts trading haymakers. Both teams put up some big innings and the ball was flying all over the yard in Capitol Hill. Small Everywhere was able to get a little bit of breathing room late in the game and took a 3-run lead into the bottom of the 7th inning. Just as I'd Hit That looked to be mounting a 2-out rally, the Small Everywhere defense came up clutch to secure the title. With 2 outs and a runner on 1st I'd Hit That smoked a ground ball to the shortstop. The ball ricocheted off of his knee and wound up in Kirsten Brose's glove. Without any hesitation, she gathered the ball and won the foot race to 2nd base to secure the final out of the game. A game-sealing, title-winning play to cap off a memorable championship game.

Kirsten Brose

Player of the Week

Who are you going to rely on with the title on the line? Small Everywhere turned to Kirsten Brose to put the finishing touches on their championship Monday night at Bobby Morris. With 2 outs and a runner on 1st in the bottom of the 7th, a hard hit ground ball ricocheted off of the shortstop and went right to Kirsten. She gathered the ball and won the foot race to 2nd base to secure the final out and win the mid-core championship. Big time players make big time plays!
