Eric had a birthday celebration the previous night. So he was not up par. But he also was at the doctor's office in the morning getting and MRI on his arm. Well with all of that he still showed up and played. But he took himself out during The Village Pub All Stars game. He then filled in for Poppers and had a great game. He started at first base and then moved to second. He also had a homerun or 2 along the way. Poppers still lost but he gets my for most improved player in one day.
In a tightly contested match under the scorching sun which ended in a 7-8 win for The Village Pub All Stars, it was the iron clad defense and timely hitting of Mike Hilfer which made the difference between a win and a loss.
