From the beginning all the way to the end of the playoffs, Endless Summer played fierce and hard. They had a solid blend of athletes and positional players who knew how to dominate the game in their own ways. Endless Summer captured the number one seed in the playoffs after going for a perfect record in the regular season. Though the regular season came to them at ease, the playoffs pushed them to a whole other level.
In the semis, Poop Sandwich gave them a fit to the very end. Endless Summer had to scratch and claw to beat Poop Sandwich's inspiring scrappy play. Ultimately, Endless Summer won a close one to move to the championship game against The Karsmashians.
Probably the most competitive match all season came at the very end. The Karsmashians had blockers and hitters all across their roster. They kept each set close and needed up beating Endless Summer to take the second set. With the match tied at 1-1, Ryan stepped up and played out of this world. Ryan is the highest jumper in the league, but his hops translated perfectly with his powerful spikes he sent over and through opposing blockers. Every time the ball went up, Ryan was determined to put it back down. But it never got any easier for The Karsmashians. When Ryan rotated to the back, that only meant Jon rotated to the front. Already blessed with great height, Jon was able to pick his spots all night long. Cristina was serving dimes all night with her perfect sets. Her technique was flawless creating easy opportunities for her heavy hitters. Leotia very well could be the best volleyball player in the whole league. She could pass, she could spike, and she could serve the ball like no one else could. Leotia balled every night, and continued to dominate in the championship. Jesse had a great game as well. He was sprawling all over the court. His quickness and intellect saved a load of points. Jesse also could bring some pop with his hits, but was most impressive with his timely placements. Like Leotia, Esther is just a pure volleyball player. Her passes were always on the money and she could swing too. Esther was the defensive mastermind on the team, reading angles and digging spikes. She had the whole arsenal working tonight.
Endless Summer won the championship deservingly tonight. They had the total package as a team and always lifted each other up. They genuinely love playing the game and doing it with the group they have. This Endless Summer team goes down as one of the best to have come through Underdog.
Leotia was on her "A" game tonight showing off some amazing defense. With cat-like reflexes, Leotia was able to move quickly to make dig after digs. No spike was a sure thing with her receiving the ball. Leotia also showed off her great serving. Her form was perfect every time as she displayed an impressive jump serve. With her strong play all night long, Endless Summer was able to win soundly going 3-0. Amazing job tonight Leotia!
