It may not have been the closest championship BTB has ever seen, but it may have been the most tense. In the final frames, you could hear a pin drop on the lanes, as both teams waited with bated breath to see how it played out. But let's go back to the beginning of the evening...
The Indy Alleyholics were matched up against #1 seed I Can't Belive It's Not Gutter. The Alleyholics could clearly bowl, but they were just overmatched by the Gutter crowd. Meanwhile across the lanes, Hot Open Faced Turkey Sandwich (or HOFTS for short) proved why they were champions of the Wednesday Sunset League a season ago, knocking off their first round competition Subject To Blackout, maintaining their #2 seed and moving on to the championship.
The stage was set: in one corner, HOFTS was looking to continue on in their win streak and once again taste the sweet nectar of a championship. In the other corner, I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter had always been bride's maids but never brides, logging more than a few (frustrating) second place finishes across several Underdog sports including past BTB leagues.
In the end, it was the Gutter crowd, led by the unstopable Jenn Oberheuser that won it by 30 pins. These two teams could make a great rivalry in future leagues, though, so watch out.

It would be hard to pick any other player for POTW besides Jenn Oberheuser. Jenn carried her team throughout the playoffs and on to their first championship with great games of 198 and 181. Congratulations to Jenn and the rest of I can't Believe It's Not Gutter!
With her roaring spirit and wonderwoman/dracula super hero attire...Jamie kicked some major booty tonight!
In a razor close game between I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter and Subject to Blackout, it was Jamie Klein who made the difference for the winners. Jamie's crucial two game score of 297 led the way for her team in a two pin victory. Congrats to ICBING as they were victorious in week one.
