The championship game for the midcore co-ed league at Ross Playfield on Tuesdays and Thursdays was a game of efficiency for Lafawnda. Smart defense and quick plays helped them close out the innings with few 4th Grade Allstar scoring threats. This is even more notable because of the intense sun that continued to shine directly into the eyes of the fielders and especially the first baseman throughout the game. Efficient defense and couple of solid innings on offense put Lafawnda up 4-2 over the Allstars to take home the title.
This week in the co-ed midcore kickball league at Ross Playfield on Tuesdays and Thursdays Dana Anderson showed her dedication in Lafawnda's championship victory over the 4th Grade Allstars by holding her ground on second base to get the out even after a dusty collision. Dana was also perfect at the plate, going 3 for 3. Dana showed the kind of effort it takes to win championships! Good job Dana!
Matt helped his team with a huge kick in the 5th or 6th inning to score 3 runs, including himself. His homerun turned the game around and "kick it real good" was not able to come back. Nice work Matt.
Even though this was a high scoring game, Bob helped keep his team in the game with his pitching and defense on the mound. He grabbed several balls that were kicked up the middle to help his team secure the victory in this back and forth game.
Joe brought his kicking shoes. With score tied and a couple ducks on the pond, Joe knocked a laser down the first base line to put his LaFawnda team up for good. And just for icing on the cake, he helped add an insurance run in the seventh. Nice kickin' Joe.
Jason led a big Lawfawnda comeback on opening day, after being down 6-0 early, Jason led an offensive explosion that led to a run capped 9 run inning. He would put the explanation point on the game later and put it away with a home run.
