In a game that was worth the 3 week wait, the Batters held off(barely) the Fifths. Led by thier star pitcher Josh " no, it was a "Perfect" game" Harnett, the Batters jumped out to a four run lead in the top of the first with 3 of those coming on the aforementioned pitchers 3 run blast. The battled like the champions they are and after five innings we sat at a 7-7 tie. But the Batter's Harnett couldn't be contained and knocked in two more of his 7 RBI's in the game to give the MasterBatters what proved to be the winning 10-7 score.
Overall great day for the Batter's pitcher. 3 HR's and 16 RBI's. What more can you say about this team leader.
It was a great display of clutch leadership and tremendous courage by Paul Kelley as he slapped four hits and also drove in five runs in an 11-3 opening day victory for the MasterBatters.
