This seasons Champs were the team to beat all season and only one team were able to hand the Bayside Tigers a loss. If You Can Dodge a Wrench was the one team that beat the Tigers, so it was fitting that they would meet in the chipper. Both teams stacked with athletes, made for a great Championship that ended 4 to 2 in favor of the once again Champs Bayside. Bayside now has a handful of Championships under their belt, and they all have bulls-eyes on them in future seasons. Great season as usual Tigers!
May-Ying is this weeks POTW and should also be crowned Player of the Season due to her exceptional skills in the arena. May-Ying is a very tough target to hit, and has cat-like moves making her very elusive. If you happen to be dialed in on May-Ying, she will just square up and catch any toss coming her way. May-Ying's stats would put her in any Dodgeball Hall of Fame (if there was one), and her contributions definitely helped in the Championship season her team had. Great job May-Ying!
Though always a skilled player and comic relief to all, Chad was in rare form on Thursday. He caught not one, but two balls between his legs throughout the course of the night. This uncanny show of athleticism was met with raucous applause from both sides of the competition, and for his nutmeg-style catches, Chad is our player of the week.
This weeks honors go to Mallory for elevating her game and adding a new stat to her dodgeball career. Mallory is improving every week her doge moves, and is always offering words of encouragement to her teammates, but this week she recorded her first catch ever, and her team praised her for her memorable out. Now that she's made her first catch there will probably be more to follow making her team even tougher to beat. Great job Mallory!
No one better epitomized "sacrifice your body for your team" than Rachel this week. During her team's winning streak Thursday night, Rachel took a ball directly to the finger that popped the digit right out of place! Ever the tough one, Rachel iced her wound and walked off without a wince. For her bravado and badassery, Rachel is our player of the week.
May-Ying is off to an early start to an excellent season with her squad winning both games with ease. May-Ying also earned her honors on a 4 on 1 comeback knocking out her opponent. May-Ying made outs with excellent throws and lots of solid catches. Great job May-Ying.
