This Saturday in the Winter Men's Flag Football league at Memorial Stadium Shipoopi won the midcore championship game over the Registered Sacks Offenders by a close score of 34-33. This was a close game with multiple lead changes, and it was obvious that both teams came to play. Consistent conversions of extra points was essential to Shipoopi's victory, but it was defense that secured them the game. When the Offenders got the ball with 36 seconds left and tried to mount a winning drive, Shipoopi came up with a huge interception that basically put the game away. It was a solid performance by both teams, but at the end of the day the glory goes to Shipoopi. Congratulations!
This week in the Saturday Gentlemen's Flag Football league at Memorial Stadium Eli Bello led his team, Shipoopi, to the midcore championship. In the championship game Eli demonstrated precision passing and good decision making, racking up 4 passing touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown, and an interception on defense. Eli really stepped up for the big game and was essential to his team's victory. Good job Eli!
The Statdog wanted to give a shoutout to Mark Pepple for the special day he had on Saturday. Mark celebrated yet another birthday on Saturday and his teammates gave him a great gift; Victory. While the Player of the Week honors are under Mark's name, they really should go to the entire team, other than Mark. As the game unfolded, Pepple continued to drop passes but his teammates picked up the slack and pulled out a 28-26 victory.
