The Softcore Championship Game was close for most of the afternoon, however as it got late, The Seagoats stepped up their game and helped turn a close game into a rout. The 34-12 victory was one of the sweetest in the history of the Seagoats franchise and will surely be remembered for years to come. Every player had a hand in this victory and it was a great culmination for all the hard work put in over the years by The Seagoats.
This week in the Co-ed flag football league at Memorial Stadium the player of the week is Ben Gerbert of the Seagoats. Switching the venue to Roosevelt High School this week, Ben stepped up for his team in the first round of the playoffs. When the outlook was getting bleak, Ben had a long touchdown that provided a huge momentum swing, and then caught another touchdown to give the Seagoats the lead and ultimately the victory over Running Wild. Good job Ben!
