Griffey's semifinal game against Designated Drinkers turned out to be close game to the bitter end. Griffey maintained a slim lead throughout the game until DD took a 2 run lead in the top of the 7th. Griffey stormed back, stringing together several base hits to win the game and meet up with Bout That Action Boss in the finals.
Griffey stormed out of the gates with 9 runs in the first and never looked back. Boss's bats finally woke up in the 7th, plating 7 runs, but it just wasn't enough. Griffey took home the Championship 20-17.
Congrats to all for a great season and hat's off to Griffey Jr's Tonic, Underdog Softball Champions!
Sometimes games are won in moments, these moments can be felt by everyone around the ball park. Momentum and energy shift and while the game is not over in terms of outs, it is over in terms of the opponents ability to come back. Doug had one of these moments, breaking his competition with a massive game-changing grand slam.
He did it all. Pitched 2 great games. Made a tag at the plate. Hit a home run, along with several other big hits and then had the game winning RBI to send his team to the finals. Great games Taylor and congrats to Griffey's for winning the tournament!
