In a back-and-forth affair, Basic Pitches realized early on that the indy Master Blasters came ready to play. Having their work cut out for them, the team solidified their defense and got key outs when they need them. That defense joined with timely hitting equaled a lead that would not be relinquished.
However, they were up by only two runs heading into the top of the last inning. Staying relaxed, the constantly strong pitching induced two flyouts before striking out the final batter to secure the championship.
After a slow start, Basic Pitches' bats came alive, scoring 11 runs over the last 2 innings to take the lead late. The come back was sparked by some great D, which included an amazing catch on a come backer up the middle with 2 outs.
