Glossy Balls picked up their first Underdog Championship on Monday. After bowling a 300 last week, Dave capped out in both games, getting a 241 in the first and a 227 in the 2nd. 6 Balls and 2 Splits put up a fight in the first game, with Ann Marie leading the charge with a 148. It wouldn't be quite enough though. In the championship match, Glossy Balls truly was unstoppable. The rolled a historic 700 behind a huge 175 by Carissa.
In an unprecedented match, David (a.k.a. Doc) bowled what was most literally the game of his life. Going into the 10th frame with nothing but strikes, the crowd was literally silent. And I'm not even talking just the Underdog crowd (but all UD teams are included in said silence); everyone from Imperial staff to casual bowlers stood by, watching in awe. Talk about a lot of pressure. With nerves of steel, David pulled through to accomplish the most impressive bowling feat I have ever witnessed. He bowled an easy 300! And immediately called his dad to tell him about it. Wow is all that comes to mind.
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful game. That started from the bowling lanes, Glossy Balls were their names.
Debbie and the rest of Gilligan's posse bowled a pretty fierce game this week. She bowled a a 173 in game 1 followed by a 134 in game 2 and led her team to a 4-0 win.
After barely breaking triple digits in his first game, and being beaten by two of the ladies on his team, Jerome decided to pick it up and make the bold prediction of doubling his score for the 2nd game. He did just that. In the last frame of his amazing game, and only 2 pins away from the cap, he put away the last two off a difficult split pick up.
