Fall Co-ed Softball at Dahl Playfield Mon/Wed

Chase Hill earns player of the week for his performance last night against the Master Batters. In a 16-8 final score Chase helped his team assure the win. Chase made several line drive catches at Third Base. The 'hot corner' earned its reputation last night.

On a cool evening in Ravenna, the change in seasons initially also brought some cooler bats. But as the bats warmed up, it was clear that a back-and-forth affair was at-hand. Random Collision's Andrea proved to be the difference maker. Not only did the right fielder go 3-for-4 on the night, driving in and scoring runs, but she also had the game-winning catch to seal the victory. That catch was no easy feat--a fly ball weaving in and out of the darkness that came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the last inning.

Alex earns this weeks player of the week award for crushing 3 HRs, including the go ahead 2 run bomb in the top of the last inning. Alex did it all, pitched an inning (nearly walking the first hitter..), played a solid 3rd, 1st, and left field, but his true mastery was at the plate. Always with a smile on his face, Alex didn't get out the entire night, driving in 8 runs, including the game winner. Coming up with a man in scoring position and trailing a run in the final inning, Alex crushed a bomb to right center than plated both runs, and his team would go on to hold the lead in the bottom of the last inning for their first win of the season. Congrats Alex and the Inventrix Firecrackers!

The lower seeded, Jesus Montero's Ice Cream Sandwich came out swing early. Lead by a crushing home run to deep left center by, Logan. They kept the bats and the defense hot not allowing Good Wood to get the big inning. His next time up, Logan hit a mirror image of his first at bat, clearing the bases with a deep home run to left center and extending the lead and eventually coasting to victory. Congrats to Good Wood on a great season and Jesus Montero for moving on to Wednesday night.
