The Playoffs for Wednesday Cornhole were a show of force of four of the best teams I've ever seen in the game. It was awesome to see both Indy teams in it to win it. Not only were teams going for the gold in the championships, they were also vying for the Spirit Championship decked out in the most jolly of holiday wear.
First up was We So Corny vs Amateur Corn Stars, who were not looking like Amateurs at all coming into the playoffs as the team to beat. We So Corny gave it a good show but didn't pull it off.
Cornholio vs Summer Bocce Champs was SO close. There really was no telling who was going to take it but the Underdog's Cornholio advanced by one very close set!
The Championship round was a real nail biter. Cornholio and Amatuer Corn Stars went tit for tat and it came down to the last round! Amatuer Corn Stars gave it their best shot but were defeated 19 to 24. It was a rough loss but it's always SO awesome to see a team of strangers show up at the last match as a team of talented friends who took home the title!
Summer Bocce Champs and We So Corny may have tied for third, but the real competition was to see who was taking home the prize of most spirited. I had to count the tickets 3 different times, but We So Corny took the spirit title by just 1 Spirit Ticket! Summer Bocce Champs deserve honorable mention at being the most friendly and fun team each league night. Thanks EVERYONE for making it a great season!
Congrats to both Indy teams for sweeping the Spirit and Skill Championships!
