Late Summer Co-ed Beach Volleyball at Alki Wednesdays

At about 6:30pm on Monday, Gavin showed up to the beach, even though his game didn't start until 7:30. He did the same exact thing Wednesday too! Whether it be to help out if a team needed it, or to sit back, relax, and soak up the sun while watching the games, Gavin was ready to go. His teammates raved about his "awesome kills" and serve rallies, all while on a sprained ankle! Your dedication is much appreciated! Nice work this week Gavin!

With a sweet knee save and a dance to go along with it, Chelsey played her heart out despite only having two other teammates on the court. Chelsey showed up early, holding down the fort until her teammates joined her and she jumped right on the beach and played great! Fun was had on the court as well, as more than once I witnessed team 'We dig 4-play' rolling on the ground laughing. Great attitude and excellent work out there!

In extreme sports such as rock climbing, motocross, skateboarding, and snowboarding, athletes wear helmets to protect their heads. In Susie's case, we may have to start calling this Extreme Beach Volleyball as she was using her head in all senses. Though it may not have been practical, by using her head, Susie showed that she would stop at nothing to keep the ball in play! As your team said, great job at 'keeping your head in the game' and keep up the hard work!

The game between Will Work for Sets and I'd Hit That was a real nail biter. After two extremely close games, the players came into game 3 tied 1-1. Team Will Work For Sets managed to squeeze ahead to win it 26-24 in the end. Captain Paul McNeal was definitely a huge help in getting this victory. Showing up early, he was focused and had the game on his mind. He wasn't afraid to get a little sandy and he proved this with some diving saves. The team worked cohesively like a well oiled machine for the third game. Paul worked hard and didn't sacrifice a moment on the court. Nice work and good luck next week!
