Ballbarians - Indy #1, Booze on First, break rubbers, The Incrediballs
POTW: Blake Brotherton
Flowers By Irene
In a nail-biter that was tied up since the 2nd inning, Blake finally broke through with the game winning run in the bottom of the 6th to lead Flowers by Irene to a 3-2 victory on opening day cascade KB ... Nice work Blake!!
Bahama Bombers, ClearPoint, Drunk and Lookin to Score, Flowers By Irene
POTW: Armando Paz
Indy #1
In BallBarians (Indy #1) first game playing together, Armando Paz used his steady pitching to keep the Incrediballs under control. In his first game ever of kickball, Armando was able to start off the BallBarians off on the right foot by driving in the first run. While the Incrediballs were trying to mount a comeback in the sixth and seventh inning Armando's composure on the mound made the difference.

POTW: Tommy Dinneen
Drunk and Lookin to Score
As part of Drunk and Lookin to Score, you have to bring not only your kickball game, but a certain level of gusto and zeal mixed with originality, topped with a dash of zaniness, and this week Tommy brought all of that and more. Whether it was behind the plate in full catchers position, on the mound psyching out the other team, or pretending to be drowning at third base, he was definitely the player of the week. At one point, while in full freestyle swim on the grass by third, the ball was kicked at him and wouldn't you know, Tommy popped up just in time to catch the ball at which point the opposing team could only tip their hat. The game didn't go Drunk and Lookin to Scores way, but you wouldn't have known it by the way they played and definitely not by the way the team ran sparklers around the field after the game. Well done guys!

POTW: The Incredible Incrediballs!
The Incrediballs
First win in 2 seasons...?! Yeah, this weeks player of the week goes to the whole Incrediballs team! In this pitchers dual, the Incrediballs managed to stay cool (pun intended) even though they fell behind 4 to 1 in the 4th. Their exceptional defense and shrewd offense brought them back to tie in the bottom of the 6th. After shutting down their opponent in the top of the 7th, Kelsey managed to turn a single into a double and after a follow up bunt for a single, the Incrediballs had runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs, 60 feet away from their first win, ever. The next kicker flew out but fear not faithful readers, there was still 2 more outs to be had. The next kicker propelled the ball into right field which enabled Kelsey to tag and score, winning the game for her team and earning them a well deserved win! Tip of the hat to you Incrediballs!

POTW: Dani Nelson
Drunk and Lookin to Score
As time was winding down till game time, Drunk and Lookin to Score was a girl down. Their spirits are always unflappable, but you could tell they desperately wanted one more player to show up and it was at that moment, in the distance, it looked like an angel was making her way across the field. On a bike that may as well have been a unicorn, in a sundress, with a Marlboro elegantly dispersing a smoke trail, Dani showed up just in time to take the field. Not even thinking twice she made her way out to center field where she was quickly the target of the opposing team's bad choice. Her appearance may have been as sweet as fun dip on a playground, but her defense was quick, agile, and sure handed. Her play was like Valentine's in July: unconventional yet brilliant.
Brandon "the Trashcan" Koga was his teams unanimous choice for player of the Game on a Sunny Tuesday - Huge offense? maybe - Crazy Yellow shorts? Possibly. But the true reason lies across the street at Paddy Coyne's. Way to go Trashcan.... Nice work!

POTW: Seth Digiacomo
Booze on First
This weeks player of the week goes to the play of Seth Digiacomo! Seth covered all sorts of real-estate in the outfield to reel in tough catches that really bummed out the opponent. He showed amazing speed and even was able to receive the comment "He's the fastest person I've ever seen", thats fast. With all his catches in the outfield making him the POTW, I shouldn't forget his homer he hit to help his team in a close game! Great job Seth!

POTW: Natasha Cote
ClearPoint
This Tuesday was filled with spectacular plays both offensively and defensively. In the end, it was a rare unassisted double play by the PITCHER, Natasha Cote that wins the prestigious award of POTW! The umpire is still not sure if this play was the result of shear panic, but ClearPoint pitcher Natasha caught a one-out line drive. When the runner at second base realized the ball was caught he was already near third base. Instead of THROWING the ball, Natasha (in panic mode) held on to the ball and it was a footrace to second! Ms Cote proved to be too fast and amidst my own humor, completed the very rare unassisted double play! Congratulations to Natasha Cote and to team ClearPoint for a game well played!
Booze on First, ClearPoint, Flowers By Irene, The Incrediballs
POTW: pohl chris
break rubbers
This weeks player of the week goes to Chris Pohl for his outstanding play everywhere on the field. Chris kicked bombs when on offense, and reeled in every shot kicked his direction when the ball was kicked! great job Chris!
Ballbarians - Indy #1, break rubbers, ClearPoint, The Incrediballs
POTW: Seth DiGiacomo
Booze on First
Player of the Week goes to Seth DiGiacomo for his "No big deal" play to end the 20-1 route of Bahama Bombers. Mr. DiGiacomo had a couple hits in assisting team Booze on First to its convincing win, but it was the final play of the game that earned him player of the game. With the accuracy of a World Cup Futbol player, Seth punted a 2 out bunt that nailed the Bomber runner, and he did so with "Big League" style. Congratulations Seth for earning Tuesday's POTW!

POTW: April Bailey
The Incrediballs
This weeks player of the week goes to April for her greatness on defense. Even though she suffered a loss to her opponents her position was on lock down. She played an excellent 2nd base, and also recorded a fantastic triple play! Great job April, you made it look so routine!

POTW: Eric Amador
ClearPoint
POTW is awarded to Eric Amador. Eric displayed a defensive clinic not seen in the greater Seattle area since Beltre left for Boston. Team ClearPoint rolled in their first game of the playoffs over the Bahama Bombers 17-2. In the final play of the game, with 1 out and runners on first and second base, Amador fielded the ball at third, hitting the opposing runner heading towards second. Receiving his own rebound, Eric then let go a hail mary to homeplate AGAIN hitting the opposing runner a step and a half from the plate. An unconventional double play, and easily the day's PLAY OF THE DAY. Congratulations Eric and to team ClearPoint as they advance in the playoffs!
This week's player of the game goes to a true champion, Tom Wyrwich of the team, Booze on First. Tom really turned things around on a play at home that will go down in underdog history. In the 6th inning, the game was close, and Tom was on 3rd. There was a kick to short right field and Tom decided to make a break for it. The ball was quickly thrown to home plate, beating Tom's speed, but when the catcher tried to make a play, Tom lept above the treeline, and dodged the ball. Eventually, after roughly 20 seconds of hang time, Tom came down and crossed home plate. This started a 4 run 6th inning for Booze on First, winning the championship game. Nice job, Tom.
