Summer Co-ed Softball at Greenlake Sundays

Opening week's Player of the Week goes to Dan Giuliani from team Axis of Awesome! Opening week did not fall short of spectacular defensive plays. Honorable mentions go to Alex Wakeman's play at the plate, Nathan Rouse's diving catch in left field, Drew Samuelson hitting for the cycle, Karl Geotina's (Where My Pitches At?) diving catch at SS, and Jake Elliott's (Here for the Beer) play at SS....but in the end, it was the all around play from Dan Giuliani that is awarded this top prize! Dan powered Axis of Awesome to a weekend sweep (16-6 over Here for the Beer, 16-2 over The Power of Glove) by spraying the field with extra base hits and locking up third base with flashy leather and diving plays! Congratulations Dan!

Bill De Bels had an outstanding day for Here for the Beer in their double header. In both games he was the star hitter, recording 2 doubles and a number of RBI. He also pitched two great games. limiting both walks and runs.

This weeks player of the week goes to Rob Cameron and his all around performance! Rob rung up 4 batters, finishing the game with 4 K's from the mound. He also kicked in 3 big hits scoring plenty of runs for his team to earn the big "W", one of those hits being a homer! Great job Rob!

In the game of the day at Greenlake, Nick De Marc finally hit a ball out of the infield, leading Afternoon Delight to a semi final win over Danny's 30. In a game that was close throughout, Nick crushed a line drive home run that put Afternoon Delight in front for good. Down 13-10, Danny's tried to mount a rally in their half of the 7th inning, but could only push one run across. It was a well played game on both sides, the difference being the huge hit by De Marc. Great job, Nick!
