What a performance for the Dugouts, as they are the Coed Softball Champions in the Sunday Magnolia/Queen Anne League. Starting out as the 5 seed, they made quick work of Pitches Be Crazy in the first game, totaling 23 runs in the first 3 innings on way to a 36-14 victory. That brought them to a match-up with the #1 seeded It's LIT. The game was close in the first two innings before Dugouts scored 8 in the 3rd, and never looked back. That took them to the championship game against the Crabby Swingers, whom they had beaten in a close game earlier in the season. It was close until the 5th, when Dustin (more on him later!) crushed a Grand Slam home run, and they never looked back, winning the championship game 18-12. Stars were all around, but two come to mind for the 3 games. Josh was an excellent pitcher, throwing the knuckle all day long and letting his very skilled outfield do much of the work. But the real MVP goes to Dustin Tiffany, who clobbered 8 (!!!!!!!) home runs during the day and drove in at least 20.
Great games, great season! Congrats to the Dugouts.

The M's got off with a bang en route to their Midcore Magnolia title. In the fifth inning of their first game against I'd Hit that, Jack M and Ted K went back to back, smashing massive home runs to give their team a lead that would not be relinquished. The first game was a low scoring affair, but the action ratcheted up against the Puppy-Ticklers in the semis. The M's jumped out to 7 quick runs and never looked back, holding on 17-12 to book a place in the finals.
They would face a Smoldering Remains team which had done damage of their own en route to the big game, with a 23-9 blitzing of Athletes in Training, behind the pitching/hitting power of Andrew G.
The M's again jumped out in front to open the scoring 5-0, and tacked on a 8 more on their way to a fairly comfortable 13-8 margin. A big shout out to the M's venerable Pat, who pitched all 20 innings of his team's Sunday and bring them to the title.
