Band of Rebels Prove Their Worth
Indy S15 is off and running and they are looking like a team to be reckoned with. In a league where some of your best teams have been around for 6 or 7 years, this team looks comfortable, scrappy and not to be taken lightly. Its rare that you see an Indy team put up 29 runs in their opening campaign and that is surely a sign that they will not be walked over by any team. Their defense, their pitching and their hot bats will take them far. Great game and can't wait to see you guys in action again next week.

Trevor had a big day at the plate in Indy's win. He led the offense going 4 for 4 with 3 home runs, a double, and 9 RBIs! He was a one man wrecking crew!

Too Much Firepower!
The Empty Pitchers on Monday night found themselves in a fight with power house and past league champs All Star Super Stars. This game was a tight defensive battle up until the top half of the fourth inning when Empty Pitchers ripped off eight runs. Only responding with two runs in the bottom half, the Super Stars found themselves sinking fast and needed a big break. In the top half of the fifth inning Empty Pitchers ripped of ten runs putting some distance between themselves and the Super Stars. The Super Stars did manage to get something going in the bottom half of the sixth but it would be too little, too late as they could only shrink the deficit to fourteen runs. Another very strong performance from the Empty Pitchers and congratulations and thank yous for entertaining us with some high level softball.

Ben Kendall Leads the Way
The unstoppable train that is known as the the Empty Pitchers has been temporarily derailed. On Monday night the Yodeling Pickles finally put it all together and pulled out a come from behind win in what some might call the game of the year. Yodeling Pickles haven't had much success against the Empty Pitchers in recent seasons and a win would surely boost their confidence and at the same time let the Empty Pitchers know that we are here to battle and we will battle you until the very last pitch. This match up was an epic battle from the first pitch to the last pitch and in the end it was primarily the play of one man who quietly lead by example and probably played the best game of his career. Ben Kendall batted four for four with a deep three run base clearing jack, a solo jack, a triple and a double. He also played some very delicious defense at short stop playing error free ball all game long. In addition he batted in six runs accounting for nearly fifty percent of the offensive output. Two words, Beast Mode. Hats off to Ben. This win was epic for the Pickles in a lot of ways. Bragging rights go along way with this rivalry and that's really what was on the line. You could see the relief come over the entire team as soon as the final game winning run crossed the plate. A celebration commenced, the rivalry trophy changed hands for the first time in a very long time and the night was complete. Congratulations to the Pickles for a very hard fought victory and thanks for showing us that no matter the odds, as long as you bring it, you will always have a chance. Great game to both teams!

It just seems that in a land of giants, this team stands out as one of the bigger giants and demands respect each time they take the field. They don't care how many good players your team has or how many wins you have. They are going to bring it to you until no more can be brought. They are tough, gritty and when on fire, get out of the area. You may get 35 runs dropped on you rather quickly. They have some tough teams to face coming up and i'm quite sure that they will be able to hold their own against any of the other juggernauts roaming this league. Great game and great win!!

Way Too Much Offense To Handle
MIRIDC on Monday night sent a loud and clear message to the league and any teams who have been around for a while. They are on a mission. A mission to prove that they are and will be the best team in the USL leagues for years to come. With a combination of hitting, running, fielding and tenacity they look scary good and like no one can stand in their way. They simply destroyed power house Empty Pitchers on Monday night and in all actuality the game was not as close as the score indicates. The score was 23 to 8 going into the top of the seventh inning so that tells you the kind of game that they played and the complete domination they displayed. The playoffs are fast approaching and we shall see if this juggernaut can hold up to the rigors of fighting against power house teams in a playoff bracket. Congrats guys and gals and just want to say that this was a very impressive win.

Reestablishes Their Domination In The Process
With the playoffs under way, a lot of the top tier teams are jockeying for position in their quest for that all elusive USL league title. One team that always seems to rise to the occasion and play out of their minds when the pressure is on, did it again on Monday night. Locked in a battle for the first three innings of the game with powerhouse MIRIDC, they played great defense, held serve, fired back and before you know it they had an eight run lead heading into the fourth. After MIRIDC couldn't get their train going on offense, the Empty Pitchers added more runs to stretch the lead to nine runs headed into the sixth. MIRIDC did manage to get something going finally in the sixth but it was too little too late as the Pitchers locked it down on defense and sealed the deal. A dominant performance from a dominant team. See you next week.

Yodeling Pickles
It's always entertaining when the Pickles match up against the Pitchers and this championship was no different. The bats and trash talking started early with the Pitchers jumping out to a 11-2 lead in the third. Both teams battled through jabbering and ribbing with some spectacular defense plays and timely home runs. But in the Empty Pitchers came up big. A big shout out to the Pickle's Pitcher, Jack Walters. Jack has been through many season at Underdog and last night was his last game. He and his wife are moving to Portland to start a new adventure. Congrats, not only on a great game, but great career with Underdog. We wish you luck and hope to see you back soon. P.S. There is Underdog in Portland!
