In every game, it is always important to make room for sportsmanship. Rhona of Can You Dig It? rose to this occasion. Regardless of the outcome of every point, she continued to cheer and be a positive influence on the court. Besides being a positive team member, she demonstrated great digging skills in the back row. For remaining humble and simply expressing joy for playing the game, Rhona is our player of the week. Congratulations!

This week Kaci showed up with the most adorable and excited entourage. She had invited a friend from work to come to her back to back games with her 5 year old daughter. Even though she says she invited them not expecting them to have time, they did show! And much to the little girl's delight Kaci showed her what volleyball is all about! She chased down every loose ball, had incredible digs and fierce serves. The louder this sweet little lady cheered for her "Auntie Kaci" the more incredible her plays became.Even when the rallies were the rallies were tough, Kaci and her teammates kept a smile and good attitude. After watching her Auntie play 2 tough teams in a row (they had back to back games) the little girl turned to me and said " I play soccer and I love it, but now I want to play volleyball like my Auntie Kaci!"

On occasion, one player seems to excel in their skills and dominate the court. Cortney Schirman of Leaning Jowlers did just that at Seattle Central on Thursday. All volleyball plays begin off of a serve, and Cortney was a serving master! For several points the other team was unable to make a good receive to return the ball. Cortney kept serving ace after ace! It seemed as if she could go all night long! Congratulations on being our player of the week.

What a team!
Ohh Killem is an amazing team to watch, and that is why it is so difficult to pick anyone player from their team. They played against another team that had been playing together for a long time and they are very strong competitors, but Ohh Killem seemed to have work well together, covering all their vulnerable places and keeping up some incredible volleys. Their hitting was precise and fierce and made the game 'edge of your seat thrilling' to watch!

No matter how intense the competition, there should always be room for sportsmanship in any game. Elizabeth Lee of Shake Dat Ace kept a positive and encouraging attitude, even when her team was down in points. Elizabeth wholly embodied the Underdog spirit with her attitude. Moon Ballers took the court tonight with the weight of the season on their backs. Heading the charge was Elise, whose serve was consistent yet deadly.

With multiple streaks of 5+ unanswered serves, Moon Ballers took the night from not one, but TWO teams to move into the Midcore 1 Championship next week!

Keep an eye on Elise's serves next week...they are anything but Moon Balls!
