Starting off the tournament this evening was Murphy's Team (seeded 2nd) vs. Diggity Diggity (seeded 3rd). From the beginning you knew it was going to be a hard game to call with both teams putting in all their talent to get the win. Murphy took the first game, and was blown out of the court the second loosing 9-25, Murphy was going to have to find some inspiration and motivation to win and move onto the championship match. But Murphy's Team wasn't going to give up; they pulled out the big guns and Eric brought home the win with more than 10 kills! The second match of the evening was A Blockwork Orange (seeded 4th) vs. Spiked Punch (seeded 1st). In the first game we weren't too sure who would pull the first game, both teams started off with great intensity moving the plays back and forth. But Spiked Punch wasn't about to waste energy on three games; they pulled out their secret weapon; John and his KILLER kills and pulled the overall win in two games!
This was it, the moment Murphy's Team and Spiked Punch had been waiting for all season long, a chance to bring home the championship title. The tension was up, both teams fought hard and honestly it was hard to tell who would win with the amount of stress both teams were putting on themselves. Both teams had great hitters; Spiked Punch with John, and Murphy's with Eric. The first game was won by Spiked Punch 25-17 but Murphy's would back down that easily they started off the second game hard with a lead of 12-5 but in the second half lost the fire and Spiked Punch won the championship game in two (25-14). Making Spiked Punch the new Spring Midcore Volleyball CHAMPIONS!!!
